Esküvő

Posted by bawlingpress on July 20, 2009

“Úgy gondolom elsősorban a páron.

Birthday Cake

Posted by bawlingpress on April 20, 2007

I believe it is important to have traditions within the family. To have rituals that are repeated on a regular basis that gives the members of the family a feeling of inclusion as well as bonding. It is our first experience of being a member of a group. My mother was wonderful at creating traditions. We had many within our family, some that were repeated every week and others that were practiced around holidays and birthdays.

Do you know what is so special for a child’s birthday celebration? It is the birthday cake. They love the moment of cutting the birthday cake. There can be so many gifts for the child, but the center of attraction is the birthday cake. Therefore, it is worth putting a lot of time and money in planning the birthday cake.

Every Saturday evening we would have the same dinner. Mom would make Swiss steak, baked potatoes and tossed salads. We were allowed to eat in the living room on TV trays and watch television. Every Saturday morning was cleaning time. Everyone had their assigned chores. When your chores were done you had free time until dinner.

Mom s traditions around birthdays included picking your favorite meal as well as your birthday cake. There were four kids and dad that mom would do this for. My brother would ask for the same meal every year. He wanted homemade corndogs, baked beans and fruit salad. His birthday cake was always homemade chocolate with dark chocolate frosting. Mom continued to make him this same meal and birthday cake until she died. Now my brother is fifty years old and his wife makes him this same meal.

More than the taste, we need to concentrate in shape, color, and size of the birthday cake. It is always better if we could design the birthday cake in cartoon characters that are familiar to the children. If the birthday cake is made in the birthday child’s favorite color, they will obliviously love it.

If the birthday cake has a theme or idea the attraction for it, is immense. Here are few suggestions. There are Pirates and Princesses, a classic birthday cake themes for boys and girls. They can be Cinderella Castle Cake, ice Cream Castle Cake, Pirate Cake, Pirate Ship Cake, Princess Cake, Splendid Castle Cake, and Treasure Chest Cake

I would not always ask for the same meal. Sometimes I would ask for spaghetti and other times I wanted mom s homemade chicken dumpling soup. My birthday cake was always the same. I wanted a marble cake with white frosting and pink roses from the bakery. I still have wonderful memories of those past birthdays every time I see a bakery cake with pink roses.

My mother was a wonderful cook so most of the traditions in my memories of home include food. I think that this is a great way to create traditions because the use of food involves so many of the senses. There is the sense of smell and taste along with sight that can trigger memories of past events. My sister s choice for her birthday dinner was creamed tuna over chowmein noodles. The smell of tuna always reminds me of my sister. Her birthday cake choice was a chocolate jellyroll filled with cream and covered in chocolate frosting. I tease her husband that he is supposed to make this cake for her each year. He has bought the jellyrolls at the bakery, but they do not compare to mom s homemade.

The birthday cake design can be anything. If the birthday cake design is different, meaningful, the kids, children and adults will appreciate it. Listed below are a few design ideas for your next birthday cake.

We still remember each others birthdays and have the memories of having our special day as we were growing up. I have continued this tradition in my family and so have my siblings. We have our mom to thank for giving us such a strong since of family traditions.

Once the birthday cake is made or purchased, it should be decorated well. The decoration is generally done to the top and sides of the cake. It is always better to decorate the birthday cake using the favorite color of the birthday boy or girl. The table in which the birthday cake is placed also should be decorated suitably.

Posted by bawlingpress on March 15, 2007

Here are some ideas to get you thinking of those truly unique birthday gifts for those you love the most. No matter who the recipient is, there’s a gift for your unique person.

When it is time to purchase a birthday gift for the boy in your life, coming up with an original idea can be tough. While you can always just give another toy, a unique gift is sure to be appreciated and remembered long after the birthday is over.

Let’s say your Mom loves shoes. She never met a shoe she didn’t like. Well, how about a chair shaped like a shoe? No kidding. They’re real, although you may find a limited selection. This is probably an eBay search item. Don’t expect to find this one at the furniture store. This satisfies anyone’s idea of unique birthday gifts, and Mom could sit on her shoe chair, putting shoes on!

If your daughter is into the Retro look, go shop the crafts fairs, street markets and antique stores, where you’ll find hats, scarves, jewelry, clothing and shoes for every decade’s Retro style looks. Try to brush up on your decade of choice before shopping. There are web sites that specialize in Retro items. E bay is another good source.

Birthday gifts for boys can be educational as well as fun. Consider tickets to an IMAX movie, along with admission to a local science museum. A model car kit can be paired along with tickets to a racing event. Chemistry sets or model airplane kits can be given for the boy who enjoys space or science.

For the cat lover, try a giant wooden rope-wrapped mouse with a leash! This too is for real. Cats and cat lovers can have a lot of fun with this one. The owner takes the leash and pulls the mouse along the floor. The cat knows this is the biggest mouse he’s ever seen. It doesn’t smell like a mouse, but Kitty will go after that mouse’s tail for hours, in some cases.

Another trend in unique birthday gifts is having a star named after the recipient. For something like $50, you complete a form, submit your application and payment, and voila! A single star in the universe bears the honoree’s name forever.

One popular gift for boys is a construction set. Construction sets can contain a lot of small pieces and one unique idea is to purchase luggage and then place the construction sets inside. Kid luggage works great for this, but you can also purchase quality pieces such as Samsonite luggage which can be used for years to come. If the luggage has wheels on it, it can be easily transported throughout the house or to a friend s house to play.

Do you have a movie buff on your list? There are books which list virtually every movie ever made. Video stores sometimes carry these hefty volumes of movie descriptions. You’ll also find them online. Your movie buff will be in heaven, never again without a source for new viewing pleasure.

Gift cards are an easy alternative when you are aren t sure what to get. Movie theater tickets or gift cards to a sports store are appropriate for almost all boys. For a boy interested in construction or who enjoys working with his hands, a gift card to a home improvement store allows them to pick out their own tools or a tool belt.

For the cooking enthusiast, there are cooking vacations ranging from a one day workshop on artisan breads in your own home town to elaborate week-long adventures at a Tuscan farm in Italy. Depending on your budget, you’ve got a lot of choices in this forum of unique birthday gifts.

In the ultimate category of unique birthday gifts, this idea requires deep pockets, but will surely provide a lifetime of memories. A week in Paris can’t be beaten. The City of Lights lives up to its name, a spectacular, romantic and exotic adventure that is truly unforgettable.

No matter what the size of your budget, just put on your thinking cap. You’ll be amazed to find there are dozens upon dozens of unique birthday gifts just waiting to be discovered.

Whatever you choose, unique birthday gifts can be a way to let your gift recipient know how much you care about them.

Ideas For Kids Birthday Parties

Posted by bawlingpress on March 8, 2007

Every year you will be faced with finding ideas for kids birthday parties. If you have more than one child, this can be something that pops up every few months. I only have one, and I know that each year I have trouble finding something different to do, and I can t imagine what I will do if we have more children. I m tired of thinking about it already. If you have to come up with something, your first thing you do might be to ask your child or children what they want. They may not have an answer, but it is worth a shot.

Friends and family members often like to put together surprise parties for their loved ones biggest special occasions. The hard parts are usually keeping the party a secret and making it a surprise for the guest of honor. There are ways to keep surprise parties a surprise, but the party planners have to be committed and sneaky.

You will have an easier time coming up with ideas for kids birthday parties if you know what your kids want. Sometimes they will tell you what they want for a party, and as long as it is ok with you, you may just want to give them what they want. They may have already had an idea because of something they did at a friend s party. Ideas for kids birthday parties often start with a theme, and if you know your children well, that theme can help you decide what to do. If your kids like Spongebob or the Wiggles, you are halfway there already.

Sometimes party planners will hold the surprise party way before the event they are celebrating such as someone s birthday, but this has drawbacks as it can seem premature and not as special a celebration.

You can find good ideas for kids birthday parties if you look around on the Internet. There are many sites that have pictures of parties, and many people write everything they did and everything that happened at the party so that friends and family that live far away can enjoy the day as well. You may also find ideas for kids birthday parties just by looking at pictures of cakes. Many times just the cake can help you come up with ideas for themes and sometimes even activities.

One way to compensate this is by having the party after the important day and this can be very successful because the guest of honor s guard will be down and they won t be expecting the big surprise. Other s like to celebrate with a surprise party by holding two parties. The first being a very small, cheap party to throw off the guest of honor s suspicions and then later, even just a few hours later on the same day giving them the big surprise party.

Don t forget about games when thinking of ideas for kids birthday parties. If you find a game you think your kids will like, you may be able to plan the rest of the party around that game. Also remember that there are many places you can go for parties, such as the Discovery Zone at your local mall, or you can book a party at Chuck E Cheese if you have one nearby. You may even want to look under birthday parties in your local yellow pages. They may just have ideas for kids birthday parties listed right there for you in the form of places that host them.

Ideas for Birthday Parties

Posted by bawlingpress on March 8, 2007

Theme parties are always great fun for any child’s birthday party.

Does your child have a favorite movie, book, TV show, favorite character, or maybe your child likes animals or has a favorite sport or past time. Well how about using one of your child’s favorites as the theme for their birthday party.

I have two children so twice a year I find myself wondering how I am going to manage to come up with yet more ideas for birthday parties. I remember when I was a kid, my parents made a cake, threw some balloons out into the middle of the room, played some music on the 8-track and presto we had a party. As with anything else, birthday parties have evolved so much that they are almost like a competition to see who can throw the coolest party.

Sometimes the best way to come up with original ideas for birthday parties is to simply think back to the birthday parties you and your friends had when you were children. Children often have just as much fun at a simple birthday party with old fashioned party games. One of my favorite party games when I was young was the balloon game where everyone tied a balloon around each ankle and ran in a circle and tried to pop the balloons of the person in front of them. I played this game at one of my daughter s parties when she was six and every child in the room wanted to play it again and again.

Planning Your Party

If your child is old enough, sit down with them and ask what kind of theme they’d like for their party. Then, keeping your budget in mind, as well as space limitations and preparation time, choose a theme and start making plans.

Once you’ve decided on a theme for your child’s birthday party, you’ll find that everything begins to fall right in place.

If you really want to come up with something different you can look for ideas for birthday parties online. If you have a specific theme in mind, you can find kids themed birthday supplies like banners, plates, cups, and cake decorations to match. You can find different accessories to make your child s birthday part visually appealing. If you don t have a theme yet, you ll find many different ideas online.

When wording your invitation, try getting into your theme and have some fun. Use words and phrases that fit your theme.

If you’re having a Princess birthday party, you might make it a “Royal Invitation from the King and Queen.”

For a Pirate birthday party, write your invitation on a piece of brown paper bag crumpled up to look like old parchment. Draw a map to your house and have “X” mark the spot. Then write something like this, “Aaarrrhh, we be celebratin the birthday of Captain (your child’s first and last name) and ye be invited.”

You can also find games and activities if you search for ideas for birthday parties online. Keeping the children busy is one of the most important aspects of hosting a birthday party so having age appropriate activities is vital. It is important to consider the difficulty of the game, what is needed, and how long the game will last as some games are meant for an older crowd and some for a younger crowd.

For a Dinosaur birthday party put blue and white helium filled balloons on your ceiling to form a sky with clouds. Then hang dark brown, light brown, green and orange streamers from the ceiling to the floor to make a jungle. Wrap some of the streamers together to make your jungle thicker.

For a Princess birthday party create a special throne using a chair and decorating it with bright red and purple balloons and streamers. And maybe even use a colorful pillow.

Finally if you don t want to host the birthday party in your own home, there are many ideas for birthday parties that are held at children s venues. Many recreational centers offer game and party rooms for birthday parties. This relieves you from the hassle of having to clean up after the party. There are many places that offer combination packages that include food, party room, and activities for one price. Using a combination package makes everything so much simpler for you but it will likely cost you more than a home party.

For a Princess birthday party, serve finger sandwiches, candy sushi, royal colored jelly beans, grapes, sparkling apple or grape juice or a “royal punch.”

For an Incredibles birthday party, label your food. Ketchup becomes “super sauce”, carrot sticks become “energy sticks” and you can even have a mini “hero sandwich.”

If you’re using an underwater theme like Finding Nemo, serve “peanut butter & jellyfish” sandwiches, Gold Fish crackers and “tuna fish” sandwiches.

Whatever option you choose, there are many ideas for birthday parties that can make your life simpler. Even if you do choose to join the birthday party competition, you can still make it enjoyable for your child and his or her friends.
